Manolo Blahnik Funky Flat

June 13, 2006 at 4:00 pm by Designer Ella

Manolo Blahnik Lee

I love printed suede. How luxe. And I love seeing a designer flat, instead of the usual heel. And this one’s by Manolo Blahnik. It’s the Zebra-Print Ballerina Slipper, or simply, Lee. She is divine, and she is $495 at Neiman Marcus.

Marc Brings Jellies Back in Style

May 25, 2006 at 9:00 am by Designer Ella

Marc by Marc Jacobs plum Circle Jelly Shoes
I’m shocked. Marc by Marc Jacobs has put out jelly sandals (and flats) for summer 2006. Yes, this summer. I’m even more shocked that they are kind of cute, especially these purple “Circle” jelly flats. I don’t have to tell you that they’d be great poolside, but they’re even snazzy, with a “faint glitter finish.”

Also check out these gold Gladiator Jelly Sandals. Both and more styles/colours sell at Net-a-Porter for $134.64.

Friday Cute, Cute Shoe Fest!

May 19, 2006 at 6:00 pm by Designer Ella

I got my Delia’s catalogue in the mail (leftover from my teenage years, it can now be used for blogging!) and I only looked at the cover—it was enough to give me a post topic!

These cute cute peep-toe “Buckle” Flats .. I love that I keep finding more of this style, and I hope you do, too! I imagine it’s much-appreciated for those in search. I was for a while, myself. This pair is the inexpensive option at $29.

But you can fill up a whole basket enough to get free shipping and a Shoe-Spring wardrobe. How’s that for shoe-string budget?

I found all these ADORABLE cute cute cute flats at What a way to kick in the weekend!

Rain Boot Alternative: Sigerson Morrison Rubber Flat

May 12, 2006 at 10:24 am by Designer Ella

It is so gloomy here; forget Spring showers, this is like England weather (not even New England). I haven’t seen the sun in a week. Today is my first day of Summer vacation, and what do I have? I’m setting aside today for lots of blog work (although I need to go to the mall quite soon, oh yes), but you’d think I could get a little shine in the sky. Please? I’m having trouble getting going, after such a hopeful effort in waking.

And all the boots I’ve tried for rainy days are uncomfortable. Boo. All this has brought my mind back to the Sigerson Morrison Rubber Flats. They do look uncomfortable, but they have a fabric-lined footbed and a complete 5-star Zappos rating! These designer beauties are also on a terrific sale, with the kelly green color being the lowest at $73.95.

Perhaps if I bought these, they’d give me a little lift, and the whimsical style might brighten such days as these. (And they look just odd enough without going too far; they’re for the quirky style.)

And hey, at least in the rain, the greens on the ground and trees gleam with deeper color. And nature does need this.

Fendi Patent Leather Mary Jane Flats

May 6, 2006 at 4:00 pm by Mallory Road

Fendi Patent Leather Flats
If you’ve visited Pursed Lips lately, you’ll remember I recently posted about the Elliott Lucca Jamin line made from patent leather—Ella commented about remembering patent Mary Janes which can be updated for adults. Well, I happened to stumble upon this pair by Fendi and had to post about them; they have peep-toe styling and an elasticized strap—I think they’re very well suited for adults!

They also have a beautiful pair of patent leather buckle slides!

Fabia Flats

May 4, 2006 at 6:53 pm by Mallory Road

You usually see me posting at Pursed Lips, but because Ella’s busy finishing up the college semester, I’m helping out and will be guest posting for the next week—fun for me!

Fabia FlatsBecause I work on the second floor of an office building that has no elevator, I’m always on the lookout for cute kitten heels and flats—those stairs at work are just too dangerous to walk on in tall heels. My newest purchase is these Fabia Flats—I got them in the cappucino/terra color combo (bottom in photo). Selling for $79, they’re pointed toe with a t-strap and an adjustable ankle strap. I normally don’t wear many shoes with ankle straps, but I like to wear my work pants slightly longer, so the straps won’t even be visible when I walk.

I ordered them this past weekend and have yet to receive them. Hopefully, they’ll be cute and comfortable, which always makes a girl happy!

Talbot’s Open-Toe Ballet Flats Review

May 3, 2006 at 9:00 am by Designer Ella

Talbot's Open-Toe Ballet Flats

Talbot’s Kidskin leather open-toe ballet flats are ironic perfection: soft, soft, lightweight, flexible, kid-skin leather ballet-style flats—but with no toe at all! The supple, crackled leather gives with the shape of your foot, so you get the comfiest fit (although that means wider toes can push the material out). Unfortunately, the sole and footbed are not very supportive, so they’re not the best for walking long distances. Almost just perfect! Oh, no, Talbot’s!

Still, I love their beautiful contrast of colors (I chose black and pewter [which will go with nearly everything!], and also adore the Gold/Silver) and that open toe is very sexy, as usual (natch!).

The best thing is that I’ve finally found and now own dressy black flats, like I’ve wanted since these Delia’s didn’t fit.

And then there’s the price, $84. But I considered the other options available for open-toed flats: rigid leather abounds. These are worth it if you’ve been eyeing the style since the cold winter months. Now’s the perfect time, don’t wait any longer!

XOXO Countess Review

March 15, 2006 at 9:00 am by Designer Ella

XOXO - Countess (Cream) - Women's

The XOXO Countess plaid flats with croco-embossed faux leather are even cuter in person than on screen at The tartan material is intricate, with flecks of sparkling pieces. The shoes’ spectator-esque vamp even works to elongate the leg with that strap-look of tan.

Unfortunately, the shoes have a narrow width and the material is inflexible. Otherwise, they’re not too uncomfortable. Very pretty to look at. And plaid!
