This camera takes OFF 10 pounds!

July 31, 2007 by Designer Ella

Only with HP digital cameras, now photo shooting yourself won’t make you want to do the real thing. Instead of adding 10 pounds (which I swear happens), certain digicams by HP can actually reverse the effect. You don’t have to be a professional photographer, and no—not even a skilled graphic artist, to produce this *wow* effect. (And I can’t even do it that well or easily as a graphic designer, myself!)

It’s not done through a magic setting (like the macro flower or something), but with a quick click of a button as a photo editing feature, which is right on the cam, not on your computer. You really can get the results yourself and no one will have to know.

And the effect is natural too—the minimal setting is subtle, but you can up the drama if you’re really feeling bloated and/or *cranky*.

HP slimming digicam

I really feel like I need this camera! Especially when I take photos with my hands in them for shooting bags or items I made to sell (isolating the body part seems to add 10 lbs only to my fingers and wrist!). But I have a great camera (which is pink!) that already has tons of amazing other features, and I want to keep it. What about you, too?

Well is one of the cameras by HP with this feature selling for a budget price? The cheapest is $179.99, which isn’t bad. Great for a nice camera, but it costs almost as much as my everyday one.

Perhaps the fatties (I say nicely!) of your family and friends can chip in to share one. And you can use it when photographing yourself, and not say your kids, dog, scenery, crafts and purse collection. Hey, that’s an idea.

Or maybe we’ll throw it in our “Sale Stalk” wish list and save up. The holidays are coming soon, it could even be an early gift, before any family photos are taken. Wait - don’t shudder, if you have this cam, you’ll think more along the lines of *shutter*.

Of course, if you’re already in dire need of a new cam, then the HP ones are a great obvious choice, ranging in price and power-punching from the one linked above to the fully-loaded R967 version, still around only $270!

Never be camera shy again!

Stylish, Small, Feature-Full Digicam (+ it’s Pink!)

March 5, 2007 by Designer Ella

Can you believe it, they now make coloured digital cameras? Everything lately is coming up rosy for girls! Kodak has new Easy Share cameras in a multitude of colours, including a light metallic blush pink. But really, that’s the least of what their V803 Zoom Digital Camera has to offer.

Kodak V803 Pink digicam

With a genuine optical zoom, dozens (literally dozens) of photo-taking modes (for close details, two for motion, for night, for … snow! etc. etc.), brightness adjustment and so much more, this is the best camera I’ve seen for such a great price - $199.95. It also offers after-the-photos-are-taken features, such as cropping, brightening (and more with Kodak’s Perfect Touch technology) and even emailing photos! Of course, with an Easy Share printer dock, one can also print photos - these already edited photos - right from the camera.

Plus the cam’s small enough to carry in a purse pocket. How perfect!

PS3 Craziness Leads to Shooting - $100M? eBay SOLD? - This is nuts!

November 17, 2006 by Designer Ella

I’m clearly for spending money and the whole moving the economy thing, but sometimes people get a little crazy over certain products. The IT bag thing is nuts, but apparently nothing compared to tech toys.

So you’ve probably heard something about Playstation 3 and the powerful mania it has people in, if you’ve seen the news or read any website (but there’s a chance you might have not, if like I, you don’t really care for the video game thing). And now a young Massachusetts man has been shot during a robbery, at a Connecticut Wal-Mart, for lined-up customers-saved-and-readied PS3 cash.

eBay auction PS3

The man refused to give his money to the thugs (perhaps partially because some of it was his grandma’s, aww), so the two thieves shot him.

He underwent surgery and was in stable condition this afternoon. At the hospital, the victim was asking for his mom to get back in line for the game console. Hopefully, he and his grandma can still keep their money, and Sony will give him a free Playstation (3, of course, oh natch).

So now video game accessories need to be exclusive, too? with only $400,000 being made and only a certain percentage of that for sale in the US. Many auctions on eBay are going for several, several thousand dollars, one even sold for

wait for it …

$99,999,999.00!!!!!

It sold, guys and girls!

When supply does not meet demand, is it on purpose? Is it the evil workings of capitalism and big business? This is nuts! What do you think?

*Update* All of the bids for that auction over $5,000 are from users no longer registered. Wow.

Hot New Shortie Cell Phones

November 16, 2006 by Guest Blogger: Meg-Pie

Hey, this is Ella’s friend, Meg-Pie. If it’s shiny, I’m all over it. I’ll be guest blogging occasionally to inform you of stylish gadgets and accessories. Today’s post is about the newest, smallest, coolest phones.

Motorola KRZR K1 BluePantech C300 Cell Phone

First up, the newly released Motorola KRZR. It’s slimmer than the RAZR, has a 2.0 Megapixel camera phone, and all that cool jazz, but it only comes in silver and blue for now. We’re waiting on pink. I’ll definitely get it then, besides for now it’s exclusively carried at Verizon Wireless, which many don’t have, including me. Bummer, huh?

Next up is a phone only available through Cingular. What’s up with this trend? It’s “the world’s smallest camera flip phone,” Pantech C300. Cool, huh? It features a camera with flash, graphic displays on inside and out, animation-capable interior photo display, some neat jazz and plus that record-breaking tininess.

And it’s not only available with GoPhone plans, it’s for all Cingular customers. That’s something at least.

So are cell phones really the next big (small) thing in fashion? Just like Louis Vuitton, these things are starting to add exclusivity to the list. Eek. Hopefully though instead of getting more exclusive, the best phones will branch out to a wider public (and remember, come in pink).
