‘Trackbacks’ Re-Active, So Link Away!
(& More Anti-Spam)

For a long time, trackbacking (when another blogger responds to my post, sends a link, inputs a URL into a field in his/her publisher, and a link shows up in my comments) had to be disabled on the blog(s) because these posts were mostly spam and most of my spam were they. (Unfortunately I had to miss out on Maria of The Runway Scoop’s trackbacks, too - among who knows else.)

But now I’ve found new and various means to fight spam comments and faux trackbacks, even referrer spam/splog scraping! It’s very exciting and promising (and fighting referrer cloggers can help lower hosting bills!) As a trial - hopefully to turn permanent - I’ve re-enabled trackbacking. I hope to see some good responses, and I’ll need ‘em coming to really see the benefit. - So of course I need to write a lot of excellent content, don’t I? ;-)

Directions: Please write your post, but before you publish, grab this URL and paste into your ping field in your blog publisher.

I’m on the anti-spam attack for crucial reasons (and making up for past slacking). Spambot coders and SpamHo Humans have gotten better at attacking blogs, and it’s never to soon to protect a site.

But it’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work and - uh - Yes - it is fashion week, and I should be reviewing runway shows, and posting news, more than coding behind the scenes. (And I will!) I have to now or who could test my trackback system??!

Sigh - sometimes (usually) designing is the part of this job I just love more. Tip to bloggers: don’t take hiatuses and come back right during your niche’s big busy time just to feel you have to tweak the code and appearance that has come to lack some TLC and shows it. I’ll add to that tip: don’t take big hiatuses!

Sigh, I’m a lazy instant-gratification girl and had to put more time in making quicker money recently - and the rest of my time? Troubles, issues, laaaaaaaazies. ;-) I’m back now - and I can’t keep near-exclusively coding for long! Right?

The dirty secret is that 2 of my recent posts for this blog and our bag blog required page styling work to display my content properly - and well, I have an addictive personality so I kept working on that sort of thing. At least you know I was also working hard on entries. 2. Only 1 for this blog. But still! They’re perrttyyy.

Now I have to get to work on more than perty; interesting, though-provoking, linkable posts! (My last post was of such, check it out: Election-Themed Fashion Week turns my Thoughts to Party Lines.

By the way, please let me know if you attempt a trackback that fails. Give it some time in case there’s required moderation. Thank you!
