A Well-Dressed Bod, A Well-Groomed Blog?

November 12, 2007 by Designer Ella

Bag Dream Redesign*Hearing snappy music in my head.* I’ve been working hard (*~for the money~*) all weekend to reorganize and spruce up the layouts of Kiss Me, Stace (this site here), Bag Dream (my bag blog) and Style Spotlight (our star style blog) [hadn't the time to move on to other sites yet]. So hard for the honey that it makes me wonder about what it’s worth. Oh, I’d do it no matter what - it is mostly for myself. I just love professionalism and taking pride in what I do and how it all presents. I’m an aesthetic perfectionist and these things matter to me. Maybe it lends to loving fashion, and it certainly gives me the designing bug.

And what about you readers, as fashion fans yourself (most of you)? Do you care to read “pretty” blogs, and not just blogs with pretty accessories? If you can, or if you could, do you/would you put in the time or the money for a knock-out layout?

I think fashion and web/graphic design go hand in handbag. These are sites about physical beauty, after all.

So what do you think? And, after (please) checking out these three sites, how do you like? :-)

Can a bag be Fab, and the Boot be Fug?

November 8, 2007 by Designer Ella

Oscar de la Renta Golden Python Doctor SatchelOscar de la Renta’s Metallic Python Doctor Bag (coming soon on Bag Dream) = ultra fabulous.

But when the same skin is put on a calf-height boot, does it make sense that it can be pretty fug? (fabulously, well, UG.) They’re not too ornate, actually they’re a bit plain. Is that the problem? Perhaps they need a stiletto heel and fewer pieces of hardware: something more elegant. I think that’s it for me.

What do you think of this boot?

Would you ‘Turn Down’ this Pump?

November 7, 2007 by Designer Ella

Stacy Adams Tatum PumpAh, the world we live in, not yet the full-blown green living land; no we have more shopping catalogs than there are standard magazines. And where I live now, well, we all seem to be sent random catalogs of all sorts - solicited or not. Eh. Well, I found a shoe (or a few) about which to blog.

Montgomery Ward has this pump by Stacy Adams, the Tatum, that appears to have been cut from a stiletto boot, with a leftover edging turned down.

Looks pretty on the too funky side of funky to me, but overall, an interesting choice for those who may like it. What about you - would you turn down this heel?

Wish List Must Lust for Coach Fans - Signature Knit Winter Set

November 6, 2007 by Designer Ella

COACH is trying a new medium for displaying their well-known Signature logo: a knitting stitch! Their new knitted cashmere scarf and beret are knit with several difficult patterns, including a 100% original: the COACH C’s.

Coach Signature Knit Patchwork Winter Accessories

If you’re a big Coach collector or an avid knitter, you must put this on your holiday wish list. These accessories have my vote for holidays must buy from Coach. Of course you can pick out your own favorite(s) from www.coach.com, yourself, if you’d rather (or in addition to).

Signature Patchwork Knit Scarf: $398
Signature Patchwork Knit Beret: $148

(Kinda ouch, right? Well, you could try eBay. It’d certainly be interesting to see if this knitting pattern will be copied.)
