Holiday Gift Week: ver. Burberry Accessories

November 20, 2006 at 1:30 pm by Designer Ella

This week, Kiss Me, Stace and Pursed Lips are bringing you holiday gift ideas to make your loved ones smile!

To start, the winter accessories brand everyone covets (don’t they?): Burberry! I’ve picked new fab things and old classics for you to choose from, for more go to www.burberry.com.

Burberry Script ScarfSo Burberry’s always been recognized by that “check” plaid, and sometimes it’s tough to tell it apart from copiers, and sometimes it’s tough to tell the variations of it are Burberry. But now, folks, Burberry has a signature script scarf with “Burberry” printed on it. I like the bold red (especially for Christmas). This luxe scarf will ring in at $265.

There’s also a new knit/pom hat that’s just adorable for anyone (who’s a girl), for $95. Not bad, not bad.

Then there are a couple annual favorites. Cashmere outer earmuffs with shearling-lined ears for $115 and Nova Check gloves with cashmere lining for $210 (eek).

Those are some fabulous separates for the serious plaid or Burberry addict, or to get for your beloved wife (or the wife can ask for it, of course!).

Stay tuned for more reasonably priced gifts, but we start with the best, don’t we?

If you like items in our Gifts series, please do pass on each post to your friends by e-mail with the link below!

I’m not into fashion rules, lately

November 20, 2006 at 9:00 am by Designer Ella

Dress Your Best What Not to WearI’ve based this blog partly around fashion rules and being a fan of What Not to Wear, but for some months I’ve been just not into it. I don’t even feel like sticking with it for the sake of the blog’s name (Stacy London is a stylist on the show).

I hate that because of a physical attribute, I’m told it’s a flaw. I hate because of a “flaw,” I can’t wear certain things or carry certain bags. Sure, I won’t wear skinny jeans, because I’m not a moron who hates herself, but I might like to wear boots, leggings, and a mini skirt—even if I’m short. And for years, I thought I couldn’t wear mini skirts because of some thighs, and I’ve realized I can. And I feel sexy. (All thanks to leggings, which some people hate.)

Fashion is about looking good, but it’s also art and about expressing oneself. Right?!

I don’t want to stick to one look 100% of the time and I don’t want to bar myself from looks I like 100% completely.

So don’t tell me I should wear navy leggings to elongate my legs because they match my skirt—I know all the rules, I just choose expression. (And grey is a pale neutral, so there.)

So maybe I’ve gone a little crazy lately, but I’m fed up and I’m rebelling!

Gosh darn it!
