I love printed suede. How luxe. And I love seeing a designer flat, instead of the usual heel. And this one’s by Manolo Blahnik. It’s the Zebra-Print Ballerina Slipper, or simply, Lee. She is divine, and she is $495 at Neiman Marcus.

FICA (Fur Information Council of America) is holding their Fur Fashion Week. Of course, I don’t care to cover the styles and I’ve already given my harshest opinion, but I’d like to cover something.
Kathleen Fasanella pointed out that she dislikes the nonuse of the furry animal’s meat and Gloria agreed. Then Julie brought up a little known aspect of the fur business, “Actually as I learned today people do eat the meat of animals killed for fur, in fact sometimes it is even more ethical than just leather.”
It’s about the treatment they endure too- and who really eats the meat? Maybe the families that farm- but can they really eat hundreds of mink meat? Or genitally electrocuted [chinchilla] meats?
I agree with Gloria, and I disagree with a fur fashion week and the fur practice as a whole. There could possibly be a correct way to use pelts for apparel, but we don’t see it now. Will we ever? Do we want that, or should the fur trade end completely?

How exciting! I’m just glad to see this photo, as taken with credit to Almost Girl.
Julie said this woman didn’t look too excited, but I know why. Woman, put down that skirt!
This black patent leather kitten heel is just so pretty, yet wearable, enough to be my new dressy shoe to replace those lovelies that didn’t fit. But these are modern, trendy & grown up. On the vamp, they have a silver band, an amber rhinestone, and a matching transparent vinyl panel - very unique!
There seems to be some comfort for these pointy-toed shoes, even, based on Bluefly’s description: a sueded inner heel—sounds nice! Plus there’s only a 1 inch heel, the perfect medium.
Sadly, there’s only size 10 left, but they are selling for only $81.99.
This is Trinny Woodall, of BBC’s What Not to Wear (which I believe can be caught on BBC America).
I don’t know the UK’s version of my What Not to Wear, but what kind of expert is she? Wearing a mixture of 70’s flower child, I Dream of Jeannie and prairie grandmother prostitute. “Attencion,” she says, for she is here … and odd.
This skinny star could wear anything, and apparently she’s using that gift for evil.
What I really want to say about this, though, is that my Stacy would never wear such trash. That is all.
Our next poll is: What does your dad need this Father’s Day? What is he lacking, wardrobe wise. Is it a complete sense of style, itself?
* New wardrobe (even should he get a total makeover or be taught the laws of fashion, like on What Not to Wear?)
* New wallet (is his bulging or ratty?)
* New shoes (are there holes or do they have an odor [I know, I know]?)
* A man’s bag (I just love those. They should catch on, don’t you think?!)
The poll is located in the left sidebar right below the Glam ad.
I just get a kick out of fashionable references and jokes, so I wanted to note what was written in Maia’s diary at the beginning of the season premiere of The 4400,
Mommy is going to buy me an ugly dress …

Meredith Viera (so long in just a few!) told a delightful story on David Letterman last night about shoes — what else?
She said that when she was a child, at the end of a school year, her mother would take away her school shoes and hand her flip flops, which would be worn ’til season’s end.
So bring on the thongs!
A great new pair is the Kenneth Cole “Jewel Thief.” It’s oh-so fashion forward; certainly not your mom or your daughter’s flip flop! Certainly not the shoe once worn by Meredith, who detests dressing up.
Fathers usually need a lesson or two in how to dress, the older straighter gentlemen (or un-gentlemen even more) especially.
Getting your dad the gift of Banana Republic apparel is a great start. Buy a few classy yet casual shirts, then you must teach him how to layer the shirts together for a sophisticated look.

You’re the fashionable one, so help your father in the best way you know how!
