Fabia Flats

May 4, 2006 at 6:53 pm by Mallory Road

You usually see me posting at Pursed Lips, but because Ella’s busy finishing up the college semester, I’m helping out and will be guest posting for the next week—fun for me!

Fabia FlatsBecause I work on the second floor of an office building that has no elevator, I’m always on the lookout for cute kitten heels and flats—those stairs at work are just too dangerous to walk on in tall heels. My newest purchase is these Fabia Flats—I got them in the cappucino/terra color combo (bottom in photo). Selling for $79, they’re pointed toe with a t-strap and an adjustable ankle strap. I normally don’t wear many shoes with ankle straps, but I like to wear my work pants slightly longer, so the straps won’t even be visible when I walk.

I ordered them this past weekend and have yet to receive them. Hopefully, they’ll be cute and comfortable, which always makes a girl happy!

A for Ayyy-ya to Stress!

May 4, 2006 at 6:31 pm by Designer Ella

I do believe that I aced this test that has stressed me for at least two weeks. And I even managed to beat back the “stressies” and lost weight! (I did!)

Now, I just have two projects to write, and that’s all. (Which means work, but it’s so doable.)

Soon, I’ll be rolling in the blogging. But before that can fully happen, I’ve invited Mallory Road from our Pursed Lips to guest blog and help give back the oomph we once had. She’ll do great; you’ve loved her before. (She’ll even relieve a lot of blogging stress.)

CoverGirl Lash Exact Mascara

May 4, 2006 at 9:00 am by Designer Ella

I’ve always pictured myself in a Maybelline commercial, because I was born with it—especially when it comes to my lashes. So I was surprised when Cover Girl came up with the perfect mascara: Lash Exact.

CoverGirl Lash ExactMascara always, always looks clumpy and fake. Even in commercials, it just looks wrong. But Queen Latifah, in the CoverGirl ads, just looks beautiful and natural—with long lashes. I had to give this a try, even though I don’t need it, and what chance do I get to wear mascara, when it just gives me an over-dramatic look? (Usually, when trying on for fun, I was told my lashes looked fake.)

Yes, I bought this product, anyway. When I tried it on, I just put a little lightly in the corners, and it looked great! It’s still definitely an *event* look, but I might try to get a little guy attention with it … or maybe for special dates.

The mascara really does what it is supposed to: the brush is specially made to ensure there are no clumps. Lashes are defined, yet still thin (you don’t want thick lashes, that’s cartoonish!). In fact, to be defined, mustn’t they still be thin, nearly by definition, even (hee hee)? The silly product-makers.

CoverGirl Lash Exact is the perfect, natural mascara to make you look beautiful. And I should have expected that from this “easy, breezy” company!
