Fat is REALLY the new Phat

It’s high time someone with my known opinions on models and size of women & clothes publishes her thoughts on the latest bans on too-thin models.

Model Appearance: Sized Just RightI think it’s wonderful, natch. You could have written that for me (well, perhaps). At first I was just afraid complete shows would crumble with no one to wear entire ensembles. (Perhaps mannequins could be wheeled down catwalks.) Yet somehow, we’re surviving.

Even more plus-sized models are being featured in shows. Higher high fashion sizes are made that were never before, as well! (And perhaps Kate Moss will quit cocaine and grow some curves [has anyone seen her recent appearances on blogs featuring her coked up skinny chair nue?], or she will lose work.)

But the bottom line is that we need this. Yes we need this to keep spreading. (Har har.) When the media say it’s for the children, it really is best for the children. For our future.

But not my future—I’m still getting out of this size!

She actually has a very powerful and commanding body. It’s a shame that this body gets labeled “full figured” or “plus sized”. She appears strong, curvy and beautiful. I say – hooray!

I sure hope this will be the start of using real-looking models. I realize some women are naturally thin… but I don’t think that’s the case with most models.

I keep hearing that the hottest thing now is plus-size clothing. Maybe this ‘too-thin’ controversy will turn things in a positive direction for designers who cater to full-figured women. I also hope plus-size clothing will get the respect it deserves in the fashion world. I mean, it’s a shame that stores will carry the clothing, but not advertise it. Or they’ll stick that section in some out-of-the-way area of the store.

My daughter is a BBW and a clothing manufacturer. We work together in her company, Jahqoi. We specialize in plus-size clothing, because we believe all women deserve to dress well and to look cute. So, we’re really hoping the ‘thin-loving/fat hating’ craze is over in the fashion industry. There’s room for all of us.
