Need actual costume ideas?
A chess knight. Create a full mask, put long hair into a “high” ponytail, and wear a black & white checkered jacket, bodysuit/leggings or other clothes.
An alientress. Buy a silver dress and create big eyes and wear a big blonde wig or put long hair into a ponytail and add punky fake hair in a contrasting color.
