Verrier Spring 2007: Another Winner

Verrier pleases me again. Their Spring 2007 collection is sophisticated and feminine, but glitzy, with some very trendy shoes (come back later for more on that). The lines, the detail mixed with simplicity, the updated retros, and the mix of low-key neutral (black and white in, oh yes!) with bursts of Summer brights. All Love.

What’s more is the models used were picked into a quite eclectic mix. There were as many variations on beauty and appearances as a typical fashion show could, in practice, have.

1. This is lovely, and the model is stunning, too. (I don’t usually like models.)

I don’t know, it was a bit overdone, with too much embellishment and not a clear focus, and the skirts with the stitching to exaggerate the pieced panels looked very amatuerish, she still had a few nice numbers, but nothing to match her first outing.

I take the overall sense of style, or I hope for one. Verrier’s matches my own. Then I just look for a large enough number of pieces that I love. Finally, there hopefully isn’t too much for me to hate or laugh at. This collection wins with me.

I work for her father so I’m kind of partial

Seriously, though, I find the femininity of her designs absolutely wonderful. If I could afford it, I’d be all over her collection.
