Photo Blog Stream: Constructing a Wrap Top

July 19, 2006 by Designer Ella

Fashion Incubator’s very, very tough question for the Carnivale …

Tell us about the most technically complex garment you have either owned or constructed.

made me realize something: my clothes are very low maintenance.

shirtIt is the outfits I put together that make most of what I wear special. (And even then, they are not so technically complex, just well put together and always either dressy or over-dressed.) Sure, some tops have details, and most of my wardrobe is very nice, but it’s not “technically complex” to my eye.

But some things may be hard to put on, right? There are the pants with a zipper, buttons, and then another button to the side. Bathroom trips, oh wait for me to get ready!

Still, I cannot remember one overly done ensemble or my entire history of apparel, so I was a bit stuck. And I’m afraid my answer shows that.

It is one new top that I would have to choose for this. I’ve arranged a photo array blot entry for you…

Not much, but takes a few seconds more of effort. Yet it comes out just looking simple, clean and sophisticated.

Just remember, a lot more goes on at every level (that I did not get into) for a “this old thing” look!
