May 22, 2006 by Designer Ella
Style.com recently debuted a special article/media feature celebrating the Pump. The closed-bodied heeled beauty has quite the place in pop culture today, as it has over many decades. View the history of pumps on Style.com.

- Coco Chanel made the spectator spectacular.
- Marilyn Monroe custom tailored her pumps for one heel to be slightly lower than on the other foot—to accentuate her “wiggling” walk.
