Traveling Film Carnivale of the Wardrobe
May 7, 2006 by Designer EllaFor this week’s Carnivale de Couture, Clothesaholic asks,
What movie, TV show or video featured clothes that made an impression on you?
Well, I’ve already answered this in part:
Forget those worn out, scribbled up Traveling Pants (although if you find REAL jeans that are a small size, tall length and fit ME perfectly, I’ll certainly change that thought). I’m in love with Lena and her feminine flared skirts!
The whole movie was about magical clothing. It had a lesson along with that fairy tale (remember in real life, fitting clothes takes effort). But I didn’t take away a fantasy of size 6 (which I got to later), no. I wanted to celebrate Lena’s classic, old-time, feminine skirts—and her personal style. The other girls shouldn’t have tried to take it away from her, and Lena shouldn’t have given in as much as she did.
It’s more important to be unique than to follow trends or the basic everyday wear of the masses. That’s the message I want to spread (along with my cry out that we are all different sizes: try on and look your best).
Now I’m inspired to put on my favorite flirty skirt, today! The weather’s perfect for it.
