Blame Late Delivery on Forzieri.com

Blame Forzieri Apology Note

In my vote for the most inventive way for a store to give back to its customers, while attracting more, Forzieri.com is offering to to ship a little note apologizing, on their behalf, for late delivery. While the real reason the gift will arrive on December 27th is because you messed up, your dear pal will think Forzieri just had too much Christmas delivery to deal with. Although I’m not sure the givee will want to shop there, this is a fantastic promotion. However, it—and a corresponding 10% off—is only available through joining their e-mail list. So visit Forzieri.com now! And get your code; offer starts December 25th and lasts three days. That’s plenty of time!

Ugg-ly Furry Feet

December 22, 2005 at 3:01 pm by Designer Ella

Ugg - Sunburst Tall (Chestnut) - Women'sI have a feeling that with the popularity of Uggs, combined with the majority opinion against fur, there is a problem lurking in a comfortable, warm exterior.

Now, if you read the description on Uggs, you know they are made of sheep skin. No problem? Fine, I like leather, myself. But many of the boots are lined with shearling. Well, that’s from sheep, too; but lambs:

The skin of a shearling or of a newly sheared sheep or lamb, tanned and with the wool on.

Lambs are so cute with their wittie faces and curly hair (which fashionistas apparently admire).

Sure, these are farm animals and aren’t caught in traps that lead to “innocent” suffering. Sure, it’s like the same as calf leather. Personally, I wouldn’t wear a baby sheep. (I’m hypocritically complex, so?)

I just wanted to make sure that all the girls in the mall wearing Ugg boots are aware they have baby sheep fur lining their calves.

Winter Accessories - by Brand - The Gap

Gap Ruffled Fair Isle
The Gap is actually a pretty big winter accessories designer for one product line: the Fair Isle Scarf. The style is always hard to find, only comes in wool, and this season, they aren’t offering it in many different colors. They don’t even have hats or gloves available, at the moment, just mittens, and of course scarves.

Still the pattern is detailed and something that represents winter, and does it in an appropriate fashion (it’s not for boots or handbags).

I say it’s iconic, but that comes from the memory of my search for a Fair Isle scarf two years ago. It feels good to walk down a winter wonder memory lane!
