Support Breast Cancer Awareness … With Shopping!

October 5, 2005 by Designer Ella

Amy Peters Studio Hope Charm Bracelet for Breast Cancer Awareness MonthCompanies big and small, blogs little and tall are all supporting Breast Cancer Awareness month (October). You can too, by supporting these products!

Good news for you is that Amy Peters Studio is offering for its monthly giveaway this “Hope” trinket Pink Rose Quartz charm bracelet. You can show you care for a cause, spread awareness, even if your tight budget won’t allow accessory splurges (although Amy’s pieces’ charm is worth their moderate prices).

Care to give a donation while receiving a beautiful thank you? COACH is selling its $298 Positively Pink Watch and giving $100 of every sale to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. In giving, you’ll deserve this luxury splurge of swiss quartz, pink leather, and Swarovski® crystals. It’s even practical, you can also tell the hubby; it’s water resistant to 99 feet.

What did I tell you? Fabulistas are so generous and smart!

Shoppers Be Wary

October 5, 2005 by Designer Ella

Shop for Shoes at Zappos.comSome would suggest not to shop for clothing or shoes online. That is an impossibility in our times, though. Our world circles around technology and the Internet turns unknown into broadcast news, and geek into chic. We simply must shop on the Internet!

But one should know what she is getting into before that oh-so-easy, often even impulse buy. There is such a great selection on the web, but we must still be choosy from which stores we purchase from. It mostly comes down to returns and exchanges. Check out every site’s policy. Make sure you are completely comfortable with it; that you wouldn’t lazy away from making the effort to send back something, say if it is required to go back UPS (with free labels, you still must work out a pick-up). You probably don’t want to have to pay extra for exchange shipping, too, when we simply cannot know our sizes, now we cannot! (Also, often the color is depicted differently on our monitors and photographs can sometimes be worth a couple of syllables.)

It’s fantastic to find a site that offers free shipping & returns, like Zappos.com. Zappos is the most consumer friendly website out there, topping even Amazon.com (no shoes there, anyway). Mentioning that brilliant company brings up other important factors — try to flock to stores that offer reviews and in-depth product descriptions. Zappos does this.

Now, my babies, even though we are living in this on-the-run, gimme-now day and age, and we do shop online without having tried on that top or coat, when you are in a physical store ALWAYS, Always, Always try on your articles of clothing. There’s no excuse, and you don’t want to look bad with ill-fitting apparel.

You see? Looking good can show intelligence and that you care. True fashionistas are thoughtful and deep, victims of nothing, and slaves to no one—aside from a huge, genuine-designer discount, maybe, or our own personal IT bag of the season.
