Lauren Merkin Silk Velvet BagThe difference may only be $27, but this Style Steal for $298 at Anthropologie is the same designer Lauren Merkin bag being sold for $325 at Bergdorf Goodman. Considering that, it’s quite a price leap. Considering the rich silk velvet, even still expensive at nearly $300, it’s a good find. Yet, honestly, Lauren Merkin? This ehh! bag? I say, go for the ultra lovely Marc velvet bag at yet 100 dollars lower! That is a bargain.

Even though I love designs by Marc Jacobs and it would certainly be easier on my bank account, if I was buying one of these purses, I would purchase the Lauren Merkin design. No, it doesn’t have any extra embellishments or fancy handle, but that’s exactly why I love it. It’s simplicity–that rich silk velvet gets to be the sole focus. I love handbags that allow great fabrics to shine! Of course, if I was going to buy it, I’d buy from Anthropologie. It may only save me $27, but every little bit helps!

It’s a very nice bag. I just don’t feel the price.
