Day of Rest: Comfy Flats

October 9, 2005 by Designer Ella

Sunday is the Day of Rest, claimed so by God, but then Jesus decided to force people to wake up early, slip into their “Sunday Best” and sit at boring church. I kid the spirit of Jesus! You know what I mean.

Sunday is to sleep in late and read the paper. It is to read your favorite blogs! It is to stroll through the charming shops downtown. While you do this, look cool, but feel comfortable. Ella is saying this, because she works hard for the weekend, and she is now so glad to have the holiday (here in Boston). I’m going to try to find soft & sweet picks for you (I may need suggestions, the style world is filled with stilettos and pointy-toes).

These shoes, I have mentioned before, but will review them, now.

Report SnugglesReport Snuggles Black

This is truly the most comfortable footwear I have ever worn. The inside is lined in material as soft as tasty mousse. The ribbon being woven tightly does constrict the foot a bit, but it does not hurt.

Yes, yes! I took the risk and bought these shoes. I dare to be fashion quirky! I will not tell you to not buy them, yourselves! Go ahead, but purchase in black, only, for the other colors look too bulky. Sometimes, indeed, black is slimming for even the foot. They are not for every person, I agree, but they pass my tests!

Report Rise PinkReport Rise

Velvety smooth sneak-inspired flat (but so cute), this is very comfortable, especially after breaking in (no band-aids required). Buy them in brown to match the season, buy them in black for a little bit of a dressier Mary Jane kick.

I would like to also mention Report Ringlet, which I merely pictured in the last post. They are not comfortable shoes, merely because, due to the incredibly beautiful detail, there is–what feels like–cardboard under the vamp, touching the toes. I can’t get over this. It’s a fabulous shoe with an exotic sheen, but can’t be worn. This is the warning shoe of the post!

Ironically, I now dream of getting gussied up, donning my new handbag on the crook of my arm, and shopping for shoes and boots.

Anything but homework!
