Fashion Week - Kenneth Cole Spring 2006

The collection boasts trousers in the budding wide, wide leg trend that dares a controversial extreme. But also keeps it classic with romantic details and flattering lines in feminine pieces. My favorite picks are the best of what clothing can possibly be, IMHO. While the worst aspects of the line are its sometimes overly slouchy, even dowdy pairings to complete a look with too much unfortunate, figure-disparaging items at once.
The Great: Dresses
How sleek a slate gray (silk or satin) dress is? The black belt makes it bold. Wear it as a fantastic professional or be a gala goddess.
Olive green. Sheer. Romantic, flowy, feminine. SPRING! This dress makes the wearer so stunning and fabulous, so anything but what the 50s were, but rocks the flowing skirt. 360 2006 Respect Me Femininity–No, worship me. Propose STAT, you want me!
You would be a fashion criminal if you did not notice the belt as the womanly staple. Rock on, Ken, you know the female body! Women of any monetary status can easily don this look, and need to–from the super skinny seeking curves to the full-figured needing a trim in the middle.
The Good: Skirt Suits
Ruffles are so fun and girly and this banana-créme top forms such a kicky shape on the bearer.
But this periwinkle scoop-neck billow-sleeve blouse is so what’s IT and upcoming! It might be hard to pull off for us regular gals, but haute hounds will be drooling over this look for seasons to come.
Unfortunately, these otherwise fine skirts have pleating that creates unbecoming slouch and bulges. Ew. Ken, what were you thinking? I never thought I’d see this on a woman, especially in our opulent, knowledgeable times.
