Marc Jacobs Ugly Red Canvas Mary JaneWalk of Shame; Ugly Shoe (Friday, Aug. 5 2005)

Generally, Marc Jacob’s shoes are too chunky to be very attractive. But this particular Mary Jane adds a Drag Show of color to the mix. The clown-colored canvas shoe was $270, but is now marked down over 50%.

I don’t know — I think those shoes are kinda cute. But Neiman Marcus’ discount makes me worry. There’s a reason things go on sale…

Sales, even on designer items, in department or online stores, are fine - I believe. I don’t know about Neiman Marcus, though. As for shoes, there’s a clear and obvious - and worry-relieving - reason: many sizes go out of stock. There’s only 1 size left of this pair - so there you go!

Thrift store? A buck fifty? Seventies-esque or not, these are still designer shoes. A person struts around a name - not just a style - although I wonder how many people will know these are Marc Jacobs, or be impressed.
