Manolo’s Summer Trends Hit Late

July 5, 2005 by Designer Ella

Manolo Blahnik finally released his versions of summer trendy sandals to Nieman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman! While I, apologetically, was forced to miss last week’s posting of Blahnik shoes, Manolo is late himself, for summer started already! It is too bad, because fashionista fans of his work may have already spent their shoe-budget for the summer, or have comparable, yet cheaper shoes. It is also a shame, because designers, stores, and yes, even the blogs have moved on to debuting fall lines!

None of this inhibits the allure of the collection of footwear, though, and most of us merely gaze upon the beauty of designer shoes. We still appreciate this art. (And doesn’t it make you feel better about your own procrastination?)

Let me put off the good part of this post no longer! The shoes!

Ella,

I suppose the pair that I like the best are the metallic ones. I am speaking in terms of how good they would look on the foot.

As for the late season introduction I have a couple of ideas.

1. I live in Alabama and here this type of shoe is worn into November. (Sometimes slide sandals are even worn to Christmas parties if the temperature is above freezing.)

2. If there is an International market, come September places like Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina and South Africa are approaching spring.

Bye,
Kinja

Good ideas. But it’s odd, because the trends started a whiile ago.

Actually, the metallic t-strap sandals, I believe, would look good. T-straps are flattering and slimming to the foot.
