Whimsical Boots: Gabriella Rocha and Delia’s

December 22, 2004 by Designer Ella

Gabriella Rocha - Kaelin (Fuchsia Hearts) - Women's

The Kaelin. #39. Heart pattern. Other fun styles available! Adjustable. Waterproof.

Gabriella Rocha - Alta (White/Red) - Women's

The Alta. $39. Polka dots! Other fun & pretty colors.

I have my own pair that are whimsical like these. I just adore them:

These are very comfortable, but after walking a while, the back gets tight and scraps my foot. They’re so fun, though! I wear socks, so it’s not too bad.

Pretty Pink w/ bow flat: wink* Hope

December 22, 2004 by Designer Ella

wink* - Hope (Fuchsia) - Women's

I wanted to get a nice pointy-toe bright pink flat. These come with bows = bonus!

This is the Hope by wink*. Cow-friendly polyurethane uppers (eh, not as good as leather, sorry Bessies). Almost non-existant heel, but so cute 1/2″. Pleating (eh) and dainty bow.

The shoe does look great. But the material is not comfy, and the sole is hard. The little hearts, although they do not help, they do not bother my feet. What REALLY bothered my feet was the upward-toe. I can’t stand that!

I knew that there was another shoe that Zappos viewers gave a better review, so I returned these ones and the others should be on their way.

NaNa - Mandy (Fuchsia/Black) - Women's

These shoes were given almost complete 5 stars for comfort. They look fabulous, with that 80’s retro and contrast stitching. I don’t think I’ll miss the bow! Especially if that trend passes.

Stay tuned for my review on those.

Btw, it says narrow toe in the description, but I looked at the picture and it doesn’t look narrow where it counts; just pointy. :-)

Ella’s Fashion Rules

December 22, 2004 by Designer Ella

- Mini-skirts are out. Skirts should rise just above the knee on short legs, or above to at the knee on longer legs. You CAN find those skirts, short girls! If you are shorter, you want your whole knee to be visible. Tricky thing is that sometimes skirts that are above the knee still leave the knee invisible from the height of people’s heads.

- Layers, done right, look fabulous. Thin layers, not the winter-bundle-up kind. (Pair this look with fabulous shoes!)

- Dark jeans look best.
- If you have wide hips, opt for a small flair or wide boot cut. TIP: Wide leg small flairs!
- Pin-stripe and tweed pants make you look professional and fab! (Wide leg)
- These pants draping over your shoes look so delicious.
- The best way to fold your pants is so that they crease in the FRONT. Yum.

- A great pair of shoes can MAKE the outfit. A usually plain outfit can turn EXTRAORDINARY by a fabulous pair of shoes.

Dr. Scholl’s Snuggly Leopard

December 22, 2004 by Designer Ella

Dr. Scholl's - Snuggle (Leopard) - All Women's Sale Items

Dr. Scholl’s snuggle in leopard print. It also comes in pink, plum, black and light coffee (tan). Lightly, but so softly, padded footbed for extra comfort. Polyurethane sole offers great traction.

I love leopard. And these are by Dr. Scholl’s: a master in comfort, so I had to get them.

But the Doc let me down a little bit, this time. The shoe is very comfortable, as it’s footbed is padded so luxuriously, but the sole is so thin, that I fear a lot of walking, especially outside, will have the poor soles of my feet hurting. They’re great for wearing around the house or to a special event, where you want your feet looking snazzy. These are great to snazz up a basic outfit.

Also, the little holes on the side for the straps…

See the strap hole?

Add a little discomfort. It just gives an odd feeling. I’m sure it can easily be gotten used to!

(Those holes, I should note, are low to the ground and make this shoe impossible to wear in the rain or after the rain and have your foot stay dry.)

They feel great with socks. I don’t know how you feel about wearing socks with such shoes… to me, they are like Mary Janes, so black, grey or brown is o.k. Even leopard if you want to be totally out there, or they match perfectly… okay, maybe not. ;-)

None of it was enough for me to pack them off in the return box!

The Most Comfortable Shoes: Fitzwell

December 22, 2004 by Designer Ella

We found my shoes this evening outside! Sneaky, late-delivering UPS! Poor UPS in the Holiday Season! UPS PROPS!

Fitzwell - Delaine (Black) - All Women's Sale Items

The Fitzwell Delaine (black). Slip-on Mary Jane clog. Black, dark brown, tan and dark navy.

This. shoe. is. so. comfortable! It is the most comfortable shoe, aside from maybe a couple of pairs of sneakers (delia’s and puma! [I want the brown anjan]).

See, it is padded like this:

Fitzwell Dalaine inside!

This shoe is like giving your foot a bed to climb into! The sole is more comfortable than slippers!

After a while of wearing and walking, the uppers start to feel not-as-comfortable, like any shoe (as opposed to sneaker). Maybe it’s just my feet. It’s still well worth it, and I may even try to wear these in Disney World! Because it is the sole of the foot that kills me, with all of the standing. Agh!

Another note, the backlessness of the shoe is not a bad thing. It does not want to slip off. It adds extra comfort; no worrying about a heel rising from the shoe.

Here is the Fitzwell Aziza:

Fitzwell - Aziza (Dark Brown) - All Women's Sale Items

I chose dark brown, because

a) I chose the black in the Delaine, because those looked more stylish, and so does black.

b) I had wanted a school shoe this fall (did not find one at the stupid mall, stupid me for looking at the stupid mall), and I liked brown a lot at that point.

I also REALLY like the tan for this shoe. But I thought that the dark brown was a nice inbetween of tan and black. :-)

Anyway, this shoe is just the same.. buutt… The heel, for me, is too far back, so my heel rises up.

I figured out on my shoe-expert own that if Fitzwell had made the strap in a buckle-close, instead of an elastic-stretch, my foot could stay in and be more comfortable. But he didn’t. I should make shoes! The strap is comfy, though. I’m hoping heel-pads will help. (I am all out.)

The slightly different style doesn’t QUITE look as nice as the other, they are both so plain, but this one seems more boxy, because it is all closed off. But I need a fall shoe. And what about the rain?

So, there you go. You MUST own one of these shoes! (Err, a pair :-P)
